Startup Voucher

Do you need funding to build your prototype in the process of developing your own business? This is possible through the TU Delft ‘Startup Voucher’, which fulfills one of the main valorisation goals: stimulating and supporting entrepreneurship.

Startup Voucher

With the Startup Voucher, the faculty of Industrial Design Engineering (IDE) aims at scouting, creating and supporting more startups. By lowering the financial barrier for prototyping, IDE students can develop their innovative idea and turn it into a business. The Startup Voucher tries to bridge the gap between graduation and pre-incubation, such as LaunchLab facilitated by YES!Delft. The basis of the Startup Voucher at IDE is that TU Delft invests a maximum of € 2.500,- in the production of a prototype.

Target group

In general the Startup Voucher is available for all TU students with an innovative and scalable idea ready to take it one step further through the production of a prototype. To manage expectations, graduates will be given priority due to the intensive guidance of a mentor and chair during the graduation process. When applying you should be able to make the synergy for both TU and start-up clear. Furthermore, a reasonable level of entrepreneurial skills and attitude is expected from the applicant.

Application form

In the Startup Voucher application form you will find the application procedure information, the accompanying conditions in the Startup Voucher agreement.

Entrepreneurship

The TU Delft offers loads of options for entrepreneurial students. Whether you have a brilliant idea or just want to explore the possibilities. From business lectures and start up visits abroad, to hackatons and courses in writing a business plan. If you are curious about starting up a company, but you don’t know how, consider participating in the several inspiring activities that help to fan the entrepreneurial flame. These activities are worth joining, not only because they are mostly free of charge, but also because you get the chance to meet people who already started their own company.

Education on entrepreneurship

As a university, the TU Delft of course also offers education on entrepreneurship. All students may apply for the courses, sometimes with a requirement to hand in an idea for a business. When the courses are chosen as part of the elective space within a master, ECTS study points can also be gained.
