Housing abroad

Accommodation while abroad

Ask your host university well in advance for information on how to find a room. Most host universities often arrange accommodation for incoming exchange students, so it is important to get in contact at an early stage. The TU Delft exchange programme database contains information on this subject for each individual university.

  • HousingAnywhere
A platform for exchange students to look for temporary accommodation while abroad.
  • Accommodation Engine
Accommodation Engine may assist in finding accommodation for specific destinations abroad.
  • CasaSwap
CasaSwap offers students and tutors the opportunity to swap accommodation simply, on the basis of individual agreements, anywhere in the world.

Subletting your room

When you want to sublet your student room while staying abroad, you have several possibilities:

  • DUWO
When you are living in a room facilitated by DUWO, they can help you with subletting.
  • HousingAnywhere
On this platform you can also put your own room online for subletting to incoming exchange students

Subletting and sublet-contracts

  • The Student Union VSSD can help you with all your questions regarding subletting. They also provide a temporary lease agreement in Dutch on their website.
  • When you decide to sublet your room, make sure to inform the municipality with your (possibly) temporary address (e.g. your parents).
